Working at height is a significant risk to many people at work. It is a legal requirement for employers to ensure that staff who are required to use access equipment are competent to do so. Participants will be asked to demonstrate competence in the use and handling of basic access equipment, and will receive an attendance certificate.
Participants should have a degree of confidence whereby they are comfortable using access equipment to carry out short duration tasks at height.
Event Training Objectives
To inform participants of:
1. Basic rules when using ladders and steps
2. Alternatives to working at height
3. The various access equipment options
4. Individual risk assessment responsibilities.
Participants will gain:
* Understanding of the principles of safe working when using access equipment
Paricipants should feel appropriately empowered to make choices in the working at height environment whereby they can carry out their tasks with minimal risks to their own and others person's safety.
