This is a workshop style session giving latest updates on issues affecting the work of bursars in Surrey maintained schools. It also provides a networking opportunity for bursars to meet Babcock 4S Finance and Personnel Consultants and school colleagues to consider new initiatives and share ideas and good practice.

Designated Safeguarding Lead Training - Update (EVENT FULL)
An update course for Designated Safeguarding Leads in schools (to be repeated every two years).
The required education section must be done in addition to the Surrey Safeguarding Childrens Board multi-agency modular courses. This course may be done at any time whilst the person is completing the SSCB modules.
This half day session will focus on four key areas: * Evaluating EYFS Profile 2018 and understanding the data * Evaluating national baselines and using the information effectively * Making accurate on-entry judgements against the national standards * Reviewing internal tracking processes

Three-year Financial Planning – What Governors Need to Know
In the current climate of ever-tighter restraints on school funding, governing bodies are expected to ensure that their school has rigorous and detailed longer term projections of income and expenditure in place. The DfE expects governing bodies and academy trusts to have secure financial planning in place, for a minimum of three years that informs strategic planning for the school or trust.
